Another Year Has Gone By

Hey there. Sorry again for a longer while without any boring journal-ing from me but here i am. I’m in Turku now and today it is new years eve, BUT i have to work night shift, how terrible is that. The only good thing is that we get 300% pay for itbut still, i’d rather be home with my sweetie and eat lots of good stuff and shoot fireworks and celebrate the new year together. This is the first new year i’m NOT spending in kokkola, except one we spent in Joensuu when we had a show there with Deep Insight, i believe this was in 2002-2003 (the changing to 2003). I just installed a new TV here, i got from my parents their old one, an enormous 21″ color TV, not big but compared to my old 14″ tv (without remote), this is luxury. I don’t have much time to write now, have to go eat soon and spend some time with Melanie. See you tomorrow most likely. Holiday Greetings

Hello. Sorry i haven’t written during the holiday but been busy, but now i have some time to tell you what’s been happening. Christmas eve was traditional with the only exception that we had christmas lunch at my sister and her husband’s home. Christmas day was very lazy as it should be. I went in the evening to my cousins for some hours to meet them and play a game of table hockey (Stiga Play-Off for those who know what it is, it’s legendary) against my fellow drummer, my cousin, Petri. Naturally, i lost 9-0. But i’m not the athlete type of guy. Wednesday we chilled bascally, nothing major. In the evening me, Melanie and Hank (aka Hans) went to the movies to check out the movie “The Golden Compass” which was a bit of a disappointment, my expectations weren’t high but still. I guess there will be a sequel beacuse it ended kinda in the middle, but also it could end here and leave the rest up to imagination, either way, i’ll survive. Yesterday we had an legendary Allban (long story) meeting, Allban is a group of friends that have been having evenings together since elementary school, most of the members are original. Melanie wasn’t feeling so good yesterday so she stayed at home with my parents. I wasn’t there too long myself so. Today we’re meeting again at Martina’s place at around 2pm or so (12.32pm at the moment) and then we probably go out and eat and/or for coffee or so. Me and Mel will either way go eat because we’re driving back to Turku today so we need energy. So that was the holidays in Kokkola in a nutshell. I will go now and will see you some other day, most likely im in Turku then. Part two of my X-Mas sepcial is coming, it’s more new years related so. But see ya!

One Night Until…

Hey there everyone and greetings from my hometown of Kokkola. We arrived here yesterday with Melanie. We were supposed to come today in the evening but as i got sick leave we left a day earlier and (once again) surprised my parents, only this time it wasn’t so late. We arrived yesterday at around 7.30pm. We had two extra passengers with us, some friends of our friends and luckily they had drivers’ licenses so they helped with the driving too, since i was still a bit sick and my eyes were hurting so i couldn’t drive in the sunlight. Tomorrow is Christmas eve and for me it’s been a lifelong tradition here in Kokkola. Usually we have lunch home but tomorrow we’re going to my sisters and her husbands place for lunch and then in the evening we go to my uncle’s (my mom’s brother) place for giving out presents and cookies and coffee and such. Every other christmas we’re here at our parents place and every other at my uncle’s. Every year some relatives also gather in, if you have seen my 2006 Christmas special video (if not, you can watch it at the end of this post). Now i will go and have a nice evening here at home with my parents and the sweetest person in the whole world, my Melanie. See you soon again and merry christmas countdown…

Staying Put

Hello there everyone again. About that apartment, we have decided to wait a bit until the money situation is a bit more stable. I’ve caught the fever and flu again and my head is hurting like crazy. I’m taking sick leave because i’m having two night shifts coming up and the nigths are the worst and running around the factory isn’t the greatest idea for recovering. Moving Out

Good morning everyone, i was supposed to wake up earlier but i overslept. I will start to clean the apartment since i’m moving out by the end of the year, hopefully we can manage to make everything ready in time. Me and Mel went to look at a friend’s apartment and she’s moving out. The apartment was very nice and big and on great location, like 500 metres from this one. It actually has a separate living room, kitchen and bedroom. So we took it, it’s a bit expensive and it will be tough in the beginning but we’ll manage. Just thought i’d share this. I’m going to clean a bit here, see you soon again!

Life Is Beautiful

Good morning. It’s 4.10 am and i’ve just woken up for yet another wonderful morning shift at Nokia. We got home from Kokkola yesterday at around 9pm after a six hours plus drive. When we drove to Kokkola on Thursday we took the wrong route and it was two hours longer but on the way back i learned the ‘correct’ route. The weekend in Kokkola was nice. As i said, on Thursday at 1am (well in a way it was already Friday) we surprised my parents by ringing on the door and they were extremely surprised, they had NO idea that we would be there; Me, Melanie and our hamster Tiffy.

On Friday we went shopping for ingredients for a cake and a little birthday gift for Emma. We went back to our parents to make a little cake and then we went on to surprising my sister, she had no idea we were in Kokkola. We had some of our cake there and soon after that we went back home where dad had made food. Around 7pm i met up with my cousin Pasi and we went to their place and just hung out. Was nice to see my cousins, been a long time since. We were playing some computer games on the legendary Amiga 500, the one i used to have and playing the games i used to play back in the day, nostalgic. Then me, Pasi and Mika went out for a drive and had some good grill food at the legendary and famous “Grill 2000″, which is a must when i visit Kokkola. We went back to the boys’ place and Petri had come home so he joined us, was very nice to meet him too. Went out for a little spin with him too later before i then headed home.

On saturday we went to Emma’s official 4th birthday party, although Friday was her actual b-day. There were some of my sisters friends/relatives with their kids visiting, didn’t know many people there. At around 6pm we went to visit my cousin Harri and his wife at their new house they bought. Harri gave us the grand tour of the house which was a work in progress, they’re re-doing it at the moment. Was a nice house and will be great when they finish it. Then after that we went back to our parents place to enjoy the evening with food, sauna, movie and more food, a great way to end the day.

Yesterday on Sunday we got up around noon and almost immediately packed my car and all of us; Me, Melanie, my mom and dad went to Pedrina’s for lunch before Me and Mel started driving back here to Turku. And at around 9pm we arrived. I dropped Mel at her guestfamily and i got home, couldn’t get sleep right away and this night wasn’t the best so i’m a bit tired but now i have to get ready for work. It’s 4.27 am now so. See you again soon. This was our weekend in Kokkola.

Surprise

Hey there. This will be a quick one. Me and Melanie drove with my car last night to Kokkola for a surprise visit and at 1am in the morning we were ringing the doorbell and Melanie was only standing there and my mom was way more than surprised. Today we made a surprise at my sister’s place. My niece Emma had her 4th bithday today so we made a cake and bought her a gift. Now we are back at my parents place and they finally have internet here too. Now i will go on here and later today i’m meeting up with my cousin(s). So see you later again. Toodle-oo

Running, Always Running…

Good “morning” dear readers. Not morning (again) but for me it is since i got up like 30 minutes ago and now it’s 2:19pm. Yesterdays Endrive practise were good, although Niko wasn’t present due to personal reasons, so Henry was behind the other guitar and we jammed some familiar songs and then we started working on a new one (again) and a really cool one. My night shift last night went by really fast, but always the last hour was a slow one but eventually we got to go home.

Hey there. Been some days since and i’m sorry but i’ve been busy with other things. I have had two evening shifts the past days and this night i’m going to nightshift. I’m already having carpool to work with my car, three persons so far, i will take a fourth still if i find one and one that lives relatively near. I don’t really have anything to write at the moment, i’m sorry for that. Well we have Endrive practise today, most likely, or i’ve heard rumours about such. I hope we will, it’s been a while since and im really eager to go drum with the guys. I was yesterday for a while by myself, to warm up. But now i will go and wash the dishes, see you soon again!

The Glorious Nosebleed

Guten abend mein freund über alles diese welt. Hello and sorry for my bad German. This morning when i was driving to work early in the morning it was raining cats and dogs, like they would say in britain. In other words, it was falling down hard. I was driving very slow and carefully on the motorway and some (idiots) where driving by real fast, i could never do so in that kind of weather. Work was pretty tough today, very busy and hectic day, but at some points time was standing still. I’ve been having some weird nosebleed lately, most likely something to do with my past fever/flue episode and/or my recent eye-infection, if it wont go away fairly soon i will see a doctor. It could also be a result of me not getting enough vitamins, so more oranges for me then. Now i will go on with my evening and i will see you guys soon again. Ciao!
