current music: wentus blues band – help me through the night

Hey there, my second post for the day, oh dear. I was surfing around on myspace and landed on a bandprofile that belongs to Kokkola’s very own blues band “Wentus Blues Band” (WBB). I’ve been a blues fan for all my life. My dad was and still is very interested by it so he introduced me to loads of blues artists. This one in particular i would like to talk about is one of Finland’s most succesfull ones, WBB. They did a movie/documentary a while back called “Family Meeting” and i just watched the trailer for it once again and i want to see it so badly. They show it in the cinema in Kokkola, still haven’t found where i could see it here. Last time i was in Kokkola they showed it two days after i had to come back here to Turku, that really bugged me. I’ll post a link of the trailer at the end. WBB is such an amazing band, they’ve played with the biggest names in blues, including Barrence Whitfield, Mick Taylor, Lazy Lester and Louisiana Red just to name a few. This documentary is about bringin all their blues friends from all over the world to Aleksanterin Teatteri in Helsinki for a reunion show to celebrate 20 years of WBB music. I guess this will be out on DVD some day so that’s when i’ll see it for sure, but will try to find out if any indie-cinema here in town will be screening it. Oh well, i’ll watch the trailer one more time…
