current music: city sleeps – not an angel

Hey there. Wanted to write about an album i found and that is quickly becoming (one of) my soundtrack(s) for the summer. The album i’m talking about is “Not An Angel” by rock band “City Sleeps”. This album is catchy, but also very rhythmic, unpredictable and has a feel-good element to it. Plus, the drummer’s work is nice and the singer has quite an unusual voice, not the strangest, but somehow i like it. Songs like “Not An Angel”, “Bones” and the official opening track and lead single “Protorype” really rock. I didn’t know whether to post this under blog or journal so i chose both, not that it makes any difference. Give the band a listen at their myspace page. But now i will go and make me some food and then to the movies with my friend Hans to watch “No Country For Old Men”, a thriller and oscar winning movie by the Cohen brothers, their movies never disappoint me. So see you later!

current music: the panic division – polysix

Hello, been a while again. So my second night shift is over since a while now, came home on Monday at 6.55 in the morning and my next shift is on friday morning, so a while without Nokia again, feels nice. We finally installed our ‘new’ washing machine in our bathroom and did a test run with an empty machine, worked fine. I just started washing my first real machine, hope everything works fine, sounds alright at the moment though. I will soon do the dishes and later pick up Mel. I’m already looking forward to Saturday, when we have yet another show with Endrive at TVO. Will be nice to see ‘Novembersoundsbetter’ live, haven’t had that experience yet, but that’s about to change. Also, i’m sure that ‘Rites of the Youth’ will throw yet another mindblowing set. On Thursday we will have our last rehearsals before the show, we’re introducing a new song, as i told you earlier. This new one will rock for sure, well i know it rocks, but i’m pretty sure people will dig it, it will be the last song on our setlist. Of course my camera will be present and at least some live footage will end up on my website. Been a bit lazy with video-editing lately, but i will try to get that new song online, video from the show i mean. But now i will go and do the dishes, see you soon again. Toodle-oo!

current music: lostprophets – everyday combat

Hi there everyone. Just got home from an action packed evening shift at Nokia. Today was a really slow day, which means not much to do for me, but somehow always at the end of the day there comes a bit more and then you (well me) have to rush to make everything ready for the next shift to start off. Yesterday we had Endrive rehearsals and it was a good one. We have one more tune ready for our show next week (the 26th) at TVO here in Turku. The working title of this song is “Je T’aime (Vesuvius)” and it’s one of these a bit longer song and will replace “I Fell Asleep” in the setlist, if you wanna hear the tune, drag yourself to TVO next week on Saturday. Also sharing the stage that evening is “Novembersoundsbetter” and local math-core act “Rites of the Youth”.

Hello. Just wanted to let you all know that Endrive will play its first show outside the finnish border, that’s right, Endrive will perform on the main stage at Fonofest in Césis, Latvia. This will be very tight. Last year Starlight Nine played this festival, but for a reason or two i wasn’t in the line-up anymore to play that show, even though i got the band that particular show. This year there’s nothing stopping me. The five monkies will take over Latvia by storm. You better be prepared. For more info, go to www.fonofest.com

current music: nothing

Hello, i just got home from a great rehearsal with Endrive, we got one more song ready, well i guess some of it will still change but the basic structure is done. As you know i had a job interview on friday, but turns out they went with someone else for that particular job. That really bummed me out, because i really thought i’d get it, something i actually would’ve been good at. But now i have to go back to Nokia again on Tuesday morning, it will be terrible, i know. That was all i had to write this time so see you again next time.

current music: tv noises

Hey there. Been a while since but im back again, and now even with a short post. I’ve had two evening shifts and one night shift since last post. Yesterday night was quite good and easy but when i came home i didn’t get sleep until 9.30am or so (after night shifts i usually go to bed at around 7.10am). So slept a bit later today and picked up Melanie and headed downtown where we met up with Hans and had, in my case, Brunch/Dinner. Now we just came back and in some 2+ hours i have to go to the second night shift. Luckily i have the whole weekend off. Tomorrow is also a big day for me, workwise. I’m having a job interview at 3pm, further details on that will come later. I’m really psyched about this, because i may finally get away from Nokia. But now i will go and enjoy the last hours before i head off to work again. See you soon again!

current music: p.o.d. – it can’t rain everyday

Hello there again. So i am back in Turku now, well i have been for some days now. On friday before i drove back here i washed my car inside and out. After that i had lunch with my sister and her daughter Emma before picking my cousins up. I had a quite nice drive from Kokkola to Turku. I had my cousins Pasi and Mika on with me, they were going to Jyväskylä so i did a little detour. The whole trip (Kokkola-Jyväskylä-Turku) took about 8 hours, i was in Turku at approximately 10pm. Saturday i had off and spent with Melanie and yesterday i had a morning shift at my lovely job at Nokia. Yesterday at work was extremely boring, very little to do, let’s see how its today. I’m going today for an evening shift in some hours, four to be excact. Tomorrow is the same deal. Anyway, i don’t have anything more in mind so i’m going on with my day. See you again soon. Take care

current music: p.o.d. – tell me why

Hello there and greetings from Kokkola, yeah that’s right i’m here quickly for a few days. I started driving in the evening on Tuesday and arrived to Kokkola at 5.40am and surprised my parents, yet again. Yesterday was spent mostly with my cousins and my friend Jape. Today i visited my sister and her kids, was nice to see them, been some time since. I also had an interview for the local newspaper here today, the same magazine that interviewed me on the day of my last Deep Insight concert. This time it was (mainly) about my Kokkola documentaries on YouTube but also my filming as an hobby, don’t know when this will be out but i will post it online then, and translate it for you all. I know i said that about the last interview i did too, but i lost my copy and i will be sent a new one, so i will translate that old one for you too if you’re interested. I’m soon going to my cousins to spend the evening. First we go jamming some blues most likely and then we have som to eat and then rent one or two Steven Seagal movies (becoming somewhat of an tradition) and have a laugh at/with them. Tomorrow i’ll wash my car, inside and out, with my dad and then we have lunch together and then i start driving to Turku. Melanie is not with me and at the moment i miss her very much, but soon again i will be there with her, I love you honey! Now i will go and listen to some music with my dad and then head over to my cousins and the rest of the day will be spent with them.
