Hello. Just a quick update. Today we had Endrive rehearsals, the only ones for this week, Niko is busy with something, but that’s allright. We’re writing some interesting material in this infrenal sauna known as our rehearsal space. Halfway through our practise the whole place smells quite manly i must say; sweat, testosterone and Sauli’s occasional farts. Ville (our bassist) is having a birthday party with his friend at Dynamo here in Turku next month and Melanie and me got invited. It’s a private party and there’s more to it. The allmighty Låvers will play their debut concert there and Pooki TV will be there to catch the heat on tape. Can’t wait for that one. Niko has been playing some new Låvers material for us at practise. I’m not sure the world is quite ready for such a love… sorry, LÅVE revolution. But they (the world) better be, because here they come!

Greetings my friends and other weird-o’s who read this (no offense, i appreciate all my readers). I’m having at the moment really low motivation for Nokia, i don’t know why, well i kinda know but i cant and/or wont write it here. I was today to a job agency in town in hopes for a new job and there just might be something, i will tell more about this as the story progresses. I’m really sick of the place (Nokia) at the moment and unmotivated so i REALLY hope i would find something else. Tomorrow we’re having Endrive practise, the only ones for this week. We’re currently writing material for our upcoming release, any date or time of year is yet uncertain. We have some interesting stuff coming, so be patient. Soon we’re having some food and im going to work for the night, can’t wait, blah! But it’s better than nothing i suppose, money is money, even though there’s not too much of it coming. But i will go now and get back to you soon enough. Take care and see ya!

Two Years

Howdy ya’ll! I’m back. So let’s get up to date shall we? On Sunday our friend and guest Leeny went back to Germany. Wsa really nice to have her here and Melanie could talk german again to someone, my german is not so good, ich bin superklasse! On monday Melanie and I had our two year anniversary and i got up at around 9am to bake her a anniversary cake, which turned out quite good, considering it was my first try. Yesterday we had Endrive practise and were working on new material. Some songs were set to side and (a) new one(s) was/were born, you try to understand that sentence. And today we took our older turtle to the vet because it seems to be a bit ill, hissing and heavy breathing. They gave her (our turtle) an a-vitamin shot. The lack of A-vitamin might be the cause behind all this, hopefully nothing serious. Tomorrow i’m going back to work, which sucks, but what can i do about it…

PS. The new ‘A Band of Retards” episode is edited and will pop up online soon, i will embed it to my journal tomorrow. The eager ones can keep searching for it on youtube tonight already.

Here I Am, Here We Go

Hey there again, dear readers. I don’t know what to write about, i just felt like writing something. Maybe some Endrive news. Well, a couple of days ago we had rehearsals and Niko came to the occaison with a new guitar riff, a real messy/noisy one and i kinda (for once) dug up my punk-roots (yeah right!) and started going crazy on the drums creating something Niko really liked, apparently. It’s kinda messy still (the drum pattern), but i will work on it to make it something i can play all the time and something really creative, fast and crazy. Did that make any sense? The whole song is maybe the most experimental and weird we’ve ever done, with a nice yet unrevealable midde section that will drop our fans (occasional concert attenders who are forced to listen to us while waiting for their favourite band to play after us, whoever it might be) off their chairs, that’s for sure. Nothing Endrive has never done before, something you’d NEVER expect from us, but we did it and maybe someday you’ll get to hear it to. My documentary for the Latvia trip will be quite bad, i just watched of what i have left after my accident on taping the Turku show on top of the latvian material, approximately 23 minutes is lost and seems like the best is gone. I will still try to make something out of it soon, i promise.

Other news, hmm, well i was working last night and i had to fill in for my friends who decided to have a day off and go to Pori Jazz to attend the Carlos Santana concert (can you blame him? lucky guy). Me and my friend Pasi (at work) we had such a blast last night, too bad he’s quitting and the next night will be his last shift at Nokia, he’s going studying. A true power-metal fan, he will be missed at the factory. Lots of work friends are quitting at the moment, four to be more specific. I’ve been active with looking at new jobs, in case i would find anything. On August 6th (which is also my sister’s birthday) i reach the magical one year mark of being an permanent worker at Nokia, don’t know if that’s anything to brag about, but – oh, well.

Melanie and Leeny are in the city and i’m expecting them home any minute. They wanted to go to IKEA, which is closing in less than 90 minutes so i don’t know what their plans are, have to wait until they get back. I’m planning on making pancakes today for us and hopefully enough will be left for me to take some to work.

Hey there. Just a short post of nonsense, don’t have anything to say really. I was today with Melanie to the Employment Office (työvoimatoimisto) at three, so i had to leave work one hour earlier, what a crying shame (to leave work earlier i mean). Later today, in forty minutes we have Endrive practise, can’t wait to go and rock out with the boys. Niko (guitar) has some new riffs again, and looking forward to that. Also we’ll be rehearsing the song we wrote last practise, which rocks by the way! Melanie and Leeny are making food, potatoes and meatballs which i get to enjoy after practise. Now i will go and get ready for whatever. See ya!

Happo Neste (R.I.P.)

Hello there dear readers, i’m back again after an adventurous weekend. We (me, Melanie and Leeny) decided to surprise my parents, yet again, by driving there on friday morning, arriving at around 9pm to my parents summer house and they had no clue, not even this time. So many times we’ve done this, they can never know. We had a nice weekend there, although it rained quite much. On saturday we hung around downtown and had a great lunch at the one and the only Pedrina’s and then we headed off to my sisters place to visit her and the kids, although Emma and Eetu was at their grandmothers and stayed there the nigh so we didn’t get to see them. After a while at my sisters i drove Mel and Leeny to the summer house and i came back to the city to visit my cousins Pasi,Mika and Niina. Petri wasn’t at home unfortunately, he is currently in the army (hajoo aamuihis). My cousin Kaj also stopped by with his wife, so was nice to see him too, a long time since. I hung out mostly with Pasi and Mika and had a nice time, talking about music, Bruce “The Boss” Springsteen and Steven Seagal. On sunday we went to my sister after breakfast in hope to see Emma and Eetu but again they were away and wasn’t coming home in time to catch us so we went to our parents summer house for lunch and then headed abck to Turku.

You might wonder about the title of this post. Just wanted to inform that the greatest gas station known to man (in Finland) has ended its business. The legendary Neste in Jalasjärvi (near Seinäjoki) also known as “Happo-Neste”. When Deep Insight was still located in Kokkola and we were driving to a show in southern Finland we ALWAYS stopped at this station. They had killer french fries with delicious mayo. They also had Internet where we could check emails. Now there is a new bigger and modern Neste “Jalastuuli” right next to it, don’t know if it has the same owners. I doubt it. Long Live Happo!

I.K.A.E.

Hey there. I’m back again. Just got home from a swety Endrive practise and we were working on a new songs. Been a while since we’ve done new ones. Having a break from “touring” and concentrating on writing new material for the upcoming release, when that is, nobody knows, but good things come for those who wait. My car is now fixed and legal to drive again. Took it to the repair shop at 8am yesterday, i came at 7am home from work and waited until eight to take it there. My parents came to Turku on Tuesday afternoon and we met up with them later that day, had lunch downtown. Yesterday we had the car fixed as i mentioned. After this Melanie made food for us all and after food we headed to the wonderful world of IKEA. We bought some small necessities, which they have lots of at IKEA. After IKEA i took a nap and headed to my second nightshift.

This morning i got home at seven again and almost immediately me and Melanie went to the harbour to pick up Mel’s friend Leeny who will be here in Finland with us until the 20th (10 days that is for those who can’t count).

So that kinda brings my journal up to date, i will get back to you when something special or exciting, or even both, happens. Until then; take care now and bye bye then!

Dude, Where’s My Bike?

Hello everyone and good morning. Yesterday was a bad day, my bike had been stolen between 5am – 11am, was still there when i went to work. Melanie was supposed to take my bike and go to her former guestfamily but realized it wasn’t anymore in our yard, that sucks. Other bad news from recent days. I went with my car to this annual check (katsastus) where they check your car if its legal and safe enough to cruise with, apparently mine was not. The front/right suspension was broken and some thig in the back, don’t know the english term for that. Nothing too bad though. Oh and i need new lightbulbs for my all four signal lights.

I also want to apologize that my latvia/turku tour video will be delayed, i borrowed my handycam to a friend and i’ll get it back tomorrow so i can transfer the tape onto my computer, before that i cant edit anything naturally. I also screwed up by taping our turku show over a bit of the latvia experience, had been watching it on my tv here at home but forgot to fastforward it to the end, rookie mistake. But i guess there’s still enough madness on tape for the world to see, in other words – the band of retards web reality tv-show will be back with the yet untitled third episode. Stay tuned. Now breakfast and then to work. Seeya!
