Hello everyone again. Just got back from Endrive rehearsals, our bassist Ville didn’t show up for a reason or another but we still rehearsed our newest songs. Our last rehearsal before the Friday show will be on Thursday followed by my german lessons. After the rehearsels a new indie band was born, the amazing “The Supers”. We were just joking around before we went home and jammed on some indie/pop/brit/rock with Henry on bass and astonishing beautiful vocals, Niko on guitar, me on drums and Sauli posing in the background reading a fashion magazine, he has an important role in the line-up. I’m really excited about next weekend, will be fun to rock out at TVO, possibly for the last time. I’m also very psyched to see ‘Verilöyly’ and ‘Every Single Burn’ play live. So once again, if you live in the Turku area, show up to TVO on Friday (Oct 3rd) and you have one week to collect up three euros for the entrance fee, so a cheap party indeed.

What else? Hmm, last night shift went well, considering the amount of sleep i had before it. I woke up yesterday after the first night at noon, after about four hours of sleep and an hour after that Melanie and me went out to bring some advertisements and newspaper out, that took us about an hour. We got back and made food, my favourite, chicken and rice, yum yum. After which i went to take a nap at around six. Some of Melanies aupair friends got here at seven, but i didn’t get much sleep during my nap so i went to my nightshift with very little sleep and i thought it would be hell, but luckily i was mistaken this time. The night went by easily and time was going by quickly and now i have four days off, time to chill. So that’s what is going on here. I’ll get back to you soon enough, alright? Until then, take care!

Tire Kicking

Hello. Some other things i wanted to write earlier but forgot. This willl be mostly understood by drummers and/or musicians, but i will write it anyways. When i got my (new) drumkit years ago, i bought a double (bass)pedal for my kick drum, in order to learn how to play it. I’ve never known how so i thought i’d do so. But over the years i lost some parts of the doublepedal ’system’ and couldn’t connect the second pedal to it so i’ve been using the single pedal for so long. A week or so ago, when we cleaned the rehearsal place i put together a temporary solution with some tape and now it actually works and for the first time in Endrive history, i’m having some double pedal work. Nothing too fast though but still it’s something. I’m really looking forward to our show next week at TVO, it’s gonna be nice to get up on ’stage’ (in TVO’s case i don’t know if you can talk about a stage, some might understand this).

I worked all last night and just got up, a bit earlier, will help Melanie to deliver the papers today, will of course take a nap before the second night shift. At the moment i’m a bit out of it still, only slept four hours or so. Last night was a nightmare at work and due to my overtiredness i went a little bit crazy (locoooo!), but i and my workmates survived. One of my good friends at work is going to quit, again. When i will i finally get out of there. Hopefully soon. You all have a good day and see you later.

We Hold On

Hey there. I think i remember now what i wanted to write in my last post, i hope. I heard from a friend that Travis Barker’s (ex- drummer of Blink182 and current drummer of +44) private jet crashed and the majority of the people in the plane got killed, including his manager (so i’ve heard, so it’s unofficial news). Travis was going to a show with “DJ AM”, guess they’ve been collaborating lately. Travis is a drummer i respect, although i’m not a Blink182, but the man sure can drum. Travis and DJ AM were severly burned but survived the crash alive and will recover, how long until he’ll be behind a drum kit, i don’t know. Don’t know why i wanted to write this, just was thinking about it and, well now i wrote it so ‘live with it’. I just got home from a very interesting Nokia evening shift, yet again. Earlier, before i went to Nokia, Melanie and me were out delivering some newspapers and advertisements, a little sidebusiness for Melanie to get us some extra cash, not much but everyhing goes at the moment. Tomorrow i’m having off and in the evening i go to Nokia for a night shift, can’t wait, hmmm. Well i will go now and do something and soon enough to bed, really tired. Tragedy, Today

Hello. Just got home from work, i had something specific i wanted to write about but i can’t remember it at the moment, but i will find that out later and write when i have better time. Today at work, we always have some radio station on, and on the news they told about a school shooting in Kauhajoki, about 200 km south of my hometown of Kokkola. Nine are reported to be dead and the shooter is still, according to the news sources alive, but in critical condition. This is yet another tragic day, not even a year ago since the last school shooting (in Finland). What makes someone do this kind of thing is beyond me. My condolences go out to all who lost their friend, family member or relative.

Back to Basics

Hello everyone, it’s me again. Just thought i’d write something about what’s been going on. Well last night i had my first nightshift of this ’serie’ and next night i’m working too. Yesterday we had Endrive rehearsals, not the best one but we got something done, the retards will rehearse for the next time on saturday. Tomorrow i’m starting my german lessons at the same school Melanie had her finnish lessons, this boy’s going back to school. After my lessons me and my friend Jukka are going to the movies to watch the new Kummeli movie “Alivuokralainen”, should be funny, BETTER be funny. All the movies are 5 euros tomorrow so that’s a good time to go see it then. Earlier today, after i’ve woken up at about 4pm, i went to the car registration office to pick up my new front license plate and this time i got the correct one, yay! At the moment i’m in the middle of washing the dishes, just having a little break before i start with the glasses and mugs, sure you wanted to know that. But enough writing, i will go and continue

False License Plates

Good morning. The reason why i’m up so “early” today is because i have morning shift tomorrow and so i could get earlier sleep tonight, so i can sleep more before my morning shift. Never really get good sleep before the first so i’ll try this. Yesterday we had Endrive rehearsals, which were quite creative whilst we created maybe the most insane song we’ve ever done, it’s really weird, funny and, well, chaotic. We also have some other brand new tunes which sound great. While i was waiting for the other guys to arrive i was standing outside and admiring my car, i noticed something weird. Something i should’ve noticed long time ago, when i got my new license plates for the front. In other words, i have wrong license plate numbers in front, two numbers have changed place. So in an hour i’m going to this place where i got them. Don’t know if it’s my fault or theirs, well kinda it’s theirs because they saw it wrong from my registration, but also i signed for them, accepting them. So we’ll see, shouldn’t be too much drama i suppose.

Yesterday Finland’s national football team played quite an world championshin qualification game against Germany, the game was played in Helsinki. Finland managed to get one point, but could’ve gotten more. The game ended in a 3-3 tie, but not once was Germany ahead. Finland lost the lead three times. Would be cool to finally see Finland in the world championships in football, they were really close of making the European championships earlier this year. Oh well, time will tell. As We Abandon TVO

I’ll go right to the point. Endrive was supposed to play at TVO here in Turku on October 3rd, but we cancelled the show since we’ve played it so often this year and in Turku in general. But on wednesday when we were at the April concert i talked to Joona (of Rites Of The Youth) and he said TVO is closing up, or having an reparation, they might end TVO as we know it though and we had to have a kind of farewell to the great venue which has helped many many bands to become what they are today. So on October 3rd Endrive will be performing for the last time at TVO as we know it. Other acts performing that night will be announced later, still working on it. But if you live in the Turku area, be there!

Dude, You Gotta Play Miniature Golf!

Hello there my dear readers. If you didn’t know today is my birthday, yeah one year older today. Melanie and Me went out to play some miniature golf to this glow in the dark miniature golf, West Coast Hohtominigolf, it’s called in finnish. It was fun, although i lost with four strokes to Melanie, but both of our par was about +40 so, that gives you an idea just how professional we are. But she beat me by four strokes and im ok with that. Some holes at the end were quite shocking with effects and noises and whatnot. Afterwards we had some delicious SubWay subs, always tastes sooo good. I’m going to work soon for the night and tomorrow we’re having Endrive rehearsals again, finally. I so want to go and drum again, now in my cleaned drumcorner. I’ve been planning those drumvids and next week i’ll shoot them, three songs i have on the list, but i wont reveal anything yet. But now i will go and relax on the couch with my honey and then get ready for work. See you again soon… Tadaa!

Long Road

current music: the classic crime – the way that you are

Hey, been far too long since and im sorry. Sometimes i wonder if there are “strangers” to me reading this, i know some family members, friends and relatives read this, but are there others. Oh well, i will still keep on writing this, because i like it. We had Endrive practise the other day and at the moment we’re concentrating on working on new songs for an upcoming release, no studio is booked yet so i can’t tell you when we’re hitting the studio and start the recording process, but all good things come for those who wait, right? I’ve also been thinking of starting a regular blog concentrated around drums and drummers who’ve influenced me in the past as well as new drummers i keep discovering. Don’t know whether i’d do it in this blog or in some category on my website, easiest would be here though, we’ll see. Yesterday i spent the majority of my day at our rehearsal place, alone, cleaning my drum corner (by public demand, obviously) and after that i drummer a good while, actually i did that before the cleaning too. I’ve decided to do some new drumvideos (play-a-long) and i have narrowed down three songs. I practised them yesterday, won’t reveal anything yet, something for everyone (i guess). I’ve had some days off now and tomorrow morning its back to Nokia. The new job thing is progressing slowly, but surely, more info about that still to come. On wednseday we’re going to watch April perform live at klubi, right here in turku rock city. They’ve released a new album and would love to get my hands on it, but there’s one slight problem at the moment, the financial side to it. So i hope i get “free tickets” for it so we can go. I guess that’s it for now, see you soon again, hopefully the wait isn’t as long as for this post. Take care!
