dream theater – six degrees of inner turbulence (album, disc two)
Hey there. Yesterdays evening shift was something else, trying to keep my mind off of the fact that Underoath was playing in the evening hundreds of kilometres away and separated by water. I did well until the last two hours hit. I was browsing some traveling magazine in the coffee room on my last break (around 7.50 pm) and there was an article about Gothenburg (where the concert was held) and I’m pretty sure that one photo showed the venue. After this break i was feeling very down and obviously i let it show through quite well.
So Niko wrote me an SMS about a quick late night band practice after work and i was all up for it, and it did cheer me up, thanks. Afterwards Niko’s wallet was missing. We had a little techno party going on in the car and since Niko didn’t find the button to open my electric windows, in order to blast DJ Bobo to the world (or more like a ghost town called Turku), he had feared that the wallet dropped out at that instant. We drove back the exact same route but didn’t find it oustide nor inside the practise place, but luckily it had fallen under Niko’s seat so it was all good again, everyone (more like Niko and myself) werevery relieved about this. I Got home at around 0.30 am or some like that. After a little webbing (email, facebook, msn…) i went to bed, had some trouble and some really weird dreams, that kept me waking up like every thirty minutes or so. But now i’m awake and full of energy.
Today the hockey world championships starts with four games, tomorrow Finland is playing its first game against Norway, it SHOULD be a piece of cake, but we all know how the finnish hockey team can surprise. Today’s highlight game for me is Belarus versus Canada. Always when i’m watching other than Finland’s games im routing for the ‘underdog’, in this case that would be Belarus, so we’ll have to wait and see, game starts in a bit over two hours. Melanie is going out tonight so i’m having lots of Dr.Pepper, popcorn and a bunch of DVD’s and also the hockey games to keep me company, it couldn’t get lazier than that, but after four straight nerver wrecking, knee and leg hurtin evening shifts, i think i’ve deserved it.
peace love and ice hockey,
-pooki
